Job Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the organization by performing various accounting tasks. This role includes maintaining financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and assisting with the overall financial management and compliance of the company.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update the general ledger.
• Post and process journal entries to ensure business transactions are recorded.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, as needed
• Reconcile bank statements with the company's financial records. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
• Verify and reconcile expense reports with supporting documentation.
• Monitor budget performance and report variances.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• 1-3 years of accounting or finance experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite or Epicor preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
