Assistant General Manager – Private Members Club & Hospitality Venue

Location: New York, NY

Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 4 PM–3 AM (flexibility required)

Compensation: $90,000–$110,000 base salary, commensurate with experience

Employment Type: Full-time, On-site

Our client is a prestigious hospitality group known for its globally acclaimed culinary and dining concepts. They are launching a first-of-its-kind private membership club in New York City that blends modern French cuisine, Japanese-inspired lounge offerings, premium beverage service, a caviar room, and intimate event spaces — all set within a luxurious, multi-concept environment.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a flagship hospitality concept that combines fine dining, nightlife, and exclusive member experiences in one elevated space. The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will play a crucial leadership role in delivering impeccable guest service, managing nightly operations, and cultivating a best-in-class member experience.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience & Service Leadership

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with members by anticipating and exceeding their service expectations.
  • Lead teams in delivering high-end bottle service, bar experiences, and tableside interactions aligned with the club's luxury brand.
  • Resolve guest concerns swiftly and professionally, ensuring continued loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Set and maintain an immersive, polished ambiance across all club spaces.
  • Provide ongoing training to ensure team members consistently reflect the club’s identity through elevated service.

Operational Management

  • Support day-to-day club operations including scheduling, inventory control, and venue cleanliness.
  • Uphold standards of excellence across all service points, ensuring seamless coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house functions.
  • Demonstrate strong multitasking skills in a high-paced nightlife setting.
  • Proactively address operational challenges to protect the guest experience.

Team & Talent Development

  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of bar, floor, and operations staff.
  • Foster a collaborative, professional work environment with high morale and accountability.
  • Mentor team members and champion continuous improvement through ongoing development initiatives.

Marketing & Brand Alignment

  • Collaborate on event planning and club promotions, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and messaging.
  • Represent the club’s values and image both internally and externally.

Compliance & Safety

  • Enforce all federal, state, and local regulations related to alcohol service, health codes, and fire safety protocols.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of members, guests, and staff at all times.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in hospitality or nightlife management, ideally in private club, luxury dining, or upscale nightlife environments.
  • Experience in private membership or exclusive hospitality concepts strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of staff leadership, client relationship building, and high-touch service delivery.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business demands.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, tech proficiency (Excel, Word), and operational multitasking capability.
