Job Summary
This position is responsible for a variety of important tasks primarily related to taking care of our interoffice mail, external mail, and documents and package routing and deliveries. The ideal Courier has an unrestricted driver's license, clean driving record, a trustworthy demeanor, and can drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles. hours will be 8am to 1pm; Monday- Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:
- Record information, such as items received and delivered and recipients' responses to messages.
- Receive messages or materials to be delivered, and information on recipients, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, and delivery instructions, communicated via telephone, two-way radio, or in person.
- Walk and drive vehicles to reach destinations to deliver messages or materials.
- Deliver messages and items, such as newspapers, documents, and packages, between establishment departments, and to other establishments and private homes.
- Unload and sort items collected along delivery routes.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivering goods.
- Check with home offices after completed deliveries to confirm deliveries and collections and to receive instructions for other deliveries.
- Perform routine maintenance on delivery vehicles, such as monitoring fluid levels and replenishing fuel.
- Collect, seal, and stamp outgoing mail, using postage meters and envelope sealers.
- Perform general office or clerical work such as operating duplicating machines, or running errands.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail.
- Provide notifications to customers or patrons.
- Confer with coworkers to coordinate work activities.
- Relay information between personnel.
- Prepare outgoing mail.
- Distribute incoming mail.
- Sort items to be delivered by location to make routing decisions.
- Make deliveries to Division of Motor Vehicles, Banks, Auction Houses, Post Offices, and other destinations as assigned.

- Fingering: Picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling
- Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture, by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or to the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly
- Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds by ear

- Near Vision: Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less
- Far Vision: Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more
- Depth Perception: Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are
- Visual Accommodation: Adjustment of lens of eye to bring an object into sharp focus. This factor is required when doing near point work at varying distances from the eye
- Color Vision: Ability to identify and distinguish colors
- Field of Vision: Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point
