Job Description

Alsum Farms & Produce Inc., a grower, packer, and shipper of potatoes & onions located in Friesland, WI is looking for a full-time Forklift Operator! You will be responsible for driving a forklift in a safe manner to move perishable produce to designated areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operate powered industrial machinery to ensure product is moved to correct location
• Regularly inspect forklift equipment and notify maintenance of any issues
• Maintain awareness of possible hazards
• Keep up to date on training requirements and forklift operating procedures
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Forklift experience preferred, certification will be required

Job Details:

Job Type: Regular Full-Time

Job Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm; some Saturdays may be required

Work Location: Friesland, WI

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Willingness to learn system of operation
• Efficiency minded; safety conscious
• Thorough knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures
• Self-motivated and able to function as part of a team
• Valid state motor vehicle license with acceptable motor vehicle record
• Ability to utilize Human Resource Information System (HRIS) software

Physical and Environmental Demands:

• The ability to sit/stand in one place for extended periods
• Various repetitive movements.
• Good manual dexterity to perform required duties
• Exposure to airborne particles or fumes
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times
• Must wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas
