JOB SUMMARY Zonatherm and sister company ThermFlo have delivered mission-critical solutions in the critical power and cooling industry since 1969. The Generator and Electrical Project Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing electrical projects from post-sale kick-off to completion. This role is vital in ensuring that all aspects of the electrical and generator systems are designed, installed, and maintained according to the project requirements, codes, and safety standards. The Generator and Electrical Project Manager will collaborate closely with other project stakeholders to deliver efficient and effective electrical solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Generator and Electrical Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of mission critical power and cooling systems for small to large commercial projects.
Their main duties include:
- Building out full electrical specification design, including equipment selection.
- Overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and generator systems for commercial and municipal facilities.
- Developing timelines, confirming parts and labor, and managing the budget throughout the project lifecycle.
- Scheduling installation and parts procurement with the customer and in-house Zonatherm electricians, technicians, and engineers.
- Coordinating with engineering firms, vendors, contractors, and end users to ensure seamless integration of mission-critical systems.
- Communicating effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders to keep the project on track.
- Performing quality control checks and system validations to ensure the functionality and safety of electrical installations.
- Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: - Education: Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Electrical Engineering Background: 2 years of experience in electrical engineering, electrical project management, or facilities management dealing with generators and electrical power distribution for commercial facilities.
- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of applicable codes, policies, standards, and theory related to electrical engineering.
- Excellent communication skills: Ability to listen effectively and understand the needs of internal and external customers. Ability to talk with customers, coworkers, and vendors, and appropriately adjust technical content to meet different audience knowledge.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Software: Auto-CAD Proficiency and full design in accordance with code.
- Computer Proficiency: Strong understanding of CRM software and ability to track and analyze customer data.
- Mechanical engineering theory including natural gas and diesel engine comprehension.
WORK AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: - Driving/Travel Responsibilities: This position requires occasional travel that can result in weekly customer and site visits. Efforts are primarily focused within the Chicagoland area/tristate region, and the home office is located in Buffalo Grove. Occasional national travel may be required to support prospects, clients, and related events such as trade shows, etc. International travel is not anticipated but may be required based on client need. A valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and valid passport are required.
- Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to operate within an office environment and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Reasonable accommodations will be provided aligned with current federal and state regulations upon request.
- Work Environment: This position will have a similar split between working in a professional office environment and working in the field. The employee may also work in high, precarious places where the noise level may be occasionally loud.
- Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a salaried, full-time position operating Monday-Friday with occasional evening and weekend requirements in the case of customer emergencies.
