POSITION SUMMARY: This is a comprehensive sales role that combines sales skills with a deep understanding of Commercial HVAC Systems. The position is responsible for driving and sustaining business in equipment repairs, upgrades, and large, complex solutions sales. The majority (at least 90%) of prospecting will be from the existing customer base.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to qualify prospects and opportunities within assigned accounts
  • Conduct effective sales presentations and respond to objections in a timely and professional manner
  • Manage quotes and close sales
  • Survey commercial HVAC systems, solve problems, and provide recommendations based on company pricing policy

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Plan and effectively schedule customer appointments
  • Conduct persuasive sales presentations and identify new opportunities within existing customer bases
  • Consistently generate sales revenue through a proven track record
  • Understand the prospect’s organization and decision-making process, and establish a commitment to a decision-making timetable
  • Utilize account management skills to support and provide solutions for assigned accounts
  • Create asset replacement schedules considering ASHRAE guidelines, service call patterns, energy efficiency, and equipment condition
  • Address customer concerns and provide detailed product demonstrations
  • Uncover the full scope of customer problems and deliver solutions
  • Communicate project details and installation timelines to both customers and the Operations team
  • Use vertical market strategies to identify opportunities within the existing customer base
  • Apply various sales training strategies to uncover issues and deliver compelling solutions
  • Interpret job conditions and recommend maintenance requirements
  • Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to coordinate work
  • Work with suppliers to identify lead times and equipment costs

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5-7 years of sales experience
  • 5-7 years of experience with commercial HVAC systems
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards
  • Valid driver’s license
