We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Porter/Dishwasher to join our team. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and common areas. Responsibilities include dishwashing; cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, workstations, floors, and storage areas; maintaining assigned common areas; and properly handling trash and recycling. The Porter/Dishwasher supports the culinary and service teams by upholding sanitation standards and contributing to smooth daily operations in a fast-paced environment, in compliance with all Department of Health and company safety standards.

Responsibilities  

• Dish washing, pot & pan washing, kitchen equipment cleaning
• Maintain the cleanliness of all kitchen areas throughout the shift
• Various deep cleaning and maintenance projects in front and back of house
• Maintaining service ware in a well organized manner
• Follow NYC Department of Health regulations
• Support kitchen staff as needed

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years porter and/or dishwasher experience in a café, restaurant or food service business
• Strong work ethic, well organized, focused, attentive to detail with a sense of urgency
• Dependable and punctual
• Enthusiastic, team player with a positive attitude
• Able to communicate effectively with team members
• Respectful of fellow employees, managers and vendors
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, reach bend and stand throughout an 8 hour shift

Location:  9 West 57th Street New York, NY 10019

Schedule: Full Time, On-Site

Base salary: $21.00 - $23.00/hour based on experience
