A top firm in the area is looking to add a Bookkeeping Manager to their team. This stable and growing firm offers clients valuable knowledge and expertise in tax. This is a great opportunity to join a team of highly motivated staff. The position will work closely with the firms partners and managers from other departments.
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Bookkeeping Manager Responsibilites:
* Evaluate performance of supervised staff both on an informal, continuous basis as well as during annual performance evaluations.
* Review projects and provide review comments to staff to cultivate a positive learning atmosphere in order to develop staff to their highest potential.
* Encourage staff to take on new roles for personal and professional development.
* Participate in firm billings and invoicing for projects they supervise and manage.
* Develop budgets and provide quotes to new clients as well as existing clients for new services.
* Provide ideas and insight to the firm's senior management on an ongoing basis and during the monthly partner/manager meeting.
* Facilitate and be a liaison between the firm's tax department and the bookkeeping staff to provide efficient bookkeeping support to clients who fall in both departments.
* Implement and monitor policies set forth by partners.
* Manage and review the firm's payroll and 1099 clients and processes, including quarterly and annual payroll and 1099 preparation.
* Come to work with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and encourage staff of the firm to bring that same attitude to their work each day.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for clients while also complying with the firm's quality control process.
* Prepare and review engagement letter's to clients to sustain quality of the firm.
* Participate in monthly and manager meetings
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
* CPA preferred,k not required
* 5+ years of proven experience in public accounting
* Minimum of four years using Quickbooks desktop and Quickbooks online.
* Must have the ability to utilize firm technology to enhance client service
* High stress tolerance -- thrives in a high-pressure environment
* Ability to conform to shifting priorities, strong problem solving & prioritization skills
The position requires related experience working in external relationship management
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and flexibility
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Self-driven individual, ability to work with minimal direction
