The Pediatric Acute unit cares for patients ranging from a few days old to 18 years of age. In this unit, you will see a vast variety of medical diagnoses including but not limited to pediatric trauma, post-operative surgeries, oncology, diabetes, respiratory illnesses, neurological conditions, and gastroenterological illnesses.
Ortho Neuro is a fast paced 41 bed med surg unit specializing in elective orthopedic cases such as total joints, spine surgeries as well as traumas including fractures and dislocations. Sanford has a robust stroke program contributing to the Ortho Neuro census when they reach routine status. Many other neurological disorders and diagnoses make their way to the unit rounding out to a very diverse patient population and the opportunity to hone a diverse skill set.
This position would be a shared position between the Peds Acute and Ortho Neuro adult units.

Responsibilities - Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage and various other nursing interventions
- Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care
- Empathetically cares for patients during all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up along the continuum of care
- Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise
Qualifications Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor s Degree in nursing preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
