Job Description

REMOTE FREIGHT BROKER

We are looking to expand our team with a talented and self-motivated freight broker.

If you have at least 5 years of experience in the industry, we want to hear from you!

JOB DUTIES

* Obtaining shipping quotes from carriers and passing them on to clients

* Booking freight service through carriers for clients

* Monitoring the progress of shipments to ensure that goods arrive promptly and undamaged

* Updating customer management software to keep client records accurate

* Well-honed negotiating skills to get the best possible quotes for customers

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

* Familiarity with logistics software, customer relationship management software and spreadsheets

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with carriers and clients

* Proven sales skills to obtain new clients and carriers and close shipping deals

* High school diploma or GED. An associate or bachelor's degree in business or logistics may be desirable, especially if a candidate doesn't have previous work experience or an established network. Individuals may also earn a Certified Transportation Broker designation from the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA).
