This is a temporary contract opportunity through Magnit, an enterprise third-party vendor for contingent work.
Position Notes :
Location : HYBRID , Bloomfield, CT (Onsite x3 days per week)
Schedule : 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST
Work Authorization : Green Card Or US Citizens
Role Overview:
- This role owns all aspects of their technical product, leading business value creation and managing overall product health.
- The APM Advisor applies product knowledge and expertise to understand business and technology objectives, communicate the product vision and roadmap, prioritize and translate needs into requirements to ensure that expected outcomes are achieved.
- Engages business partners and various stakeholders to understand requirements, pain points, hidden needs and expected outcomes.
- Leverages knowledge of the product’s value stream and system interactions to identify when new features or product changes are needed to achieve business value.
- Communicates stakeholder goals and expected outcomes to the engineering team and writes definition-of-ready epics/features, incorporating architectural changes recommended by engineering.
- Facilitates product backlog grooming sessions, ensuring the highest impact work is delivered soonest.
- Relationships and Vision
- Owns the product management of a defined capability or technical product area, including product value, cost of ownership, health and non-functional requirements (reliability, scalability, usability, security, performance, etc.).
- Cultivates trusted relationships with Business and Technology partners to foster teamwork and a shared understanding of the product vision, goals and priorities.
- Develops and maintains a technical product roadmap and backlog to capture business themes, epics, and stories while collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize the highest impact work to be delivered soonest.
- Leading Across Teams
- Actively participates in planning sessions that form cohesive, iterative plans and ensure the team’s work creates the iterative value (e.g. supports the completion of MVPs/Epics in concert with other teams).
- Proactively resolve upstream dependencies and resolve conflict effectively across teams.
- Participates in team standups, and retrospectives, facilitates dialog with stakeholders during sprint reviews/product demos.
- Make Teams Awesome
- Leverages agility tools (e.g., Jira) and implements strategies to optimize team performance and achieve overall department objectives (e.g., manage story aging, manage WIP, epic size/throughput, etc.).
- Has a Product Mindset
- Develops a deep understanding of their product, acts as their product evangelist and always have a “customer-first” attitude.
Role Expectations
- Own the product roadmap ensuring it is up to date and able to speak to the work
- Manage intake for the product team
- Prioritize and manage a product backlog for delivery of value early and often
- Use dashboards, tableau reports, and any other data points to help identify trends for process / procedure improvement recommendations
- Regularly perform feature/epic reviews with the product team(s)
- Ensure Jira boards are up to date
- Managing team level work from backlog to commitment to deliver
SKILLS:
- Experience working in intrastructure or technology required
- Experience with Jira required (Plan view, Structures, JQL a plus)
- Experience writing epics/features
- Experience with project work decomposition to appropriately sized deliverable pieces of work
- High degree of comfort in fast-paced dynamic / ambiguous environment
- High degree of comfort in introducing change to your product team(s) with a focus on value
- Continuous planning and continuous improvement mindset
- Proven skill at balancing technical knowledge with business possibility and acumen
- Ability to work cross functionally with Security, Infrastructure, and Software Engineering
- Passionate stakeholder advocate with ability to identify and meet customer needs within agile framework.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred but not required or equivalent work experience
Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)
The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $54.00-$74.00/hr
