Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (SRE/Support Focus)

Pay Scale: $140,000 to $185,000 annually

Vacation

Full-time employees are eligible to earn and accrue vacation upon the first day of work. All full-time employees are eligible to accrue at least 80 hours of paid vacation time annually, and annual vacation time increases based on tenure.

Sick Time

All employees will be granted 5 days (40 hours) of paid sick leave in a lump sum at the time of hire and subsequently, at the beginning of each year on January 1st. Employees may begin to use paid sick leave on their 90th day of employment (or sooner, if applicable law requires). Employees can use up to 5 days (40 hours) of paid sick leave per year.

Holiday Pay

Upon hire, all employees will receive holiday pay for the Company observed holidays, which includes all Federal Holidays and the day after Thanksgiving.

Medical Insurance Benefits

Opeeka provides the option of a comprehensive medical insurance plan for eligible full-time employees and their dependents. Employees are eligible to enroll in the medical program on the first of the month following 30 days of continuous employment. The Company will pay a portion of the medical insurance premium, up to $550 per employee and up to $450 for covered dependent(s). Medical insurance benefits are available to employees, the employee’s spouse or registered domestic partner, and the employee’s legal dependents.

Dental and Vision Benefits

Eligible full-time employees may also enroll in an employee only, an employee plus children or a family contract on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. For eligible full-time employees, the Company will contribute 100% of the Dental plan cost for the Employee. Employee is responsible for 100% of the cost for covered dependent(s). Employees are responsible for 100% of the cost of Vision coverage.

Retirement Plan

The Company provides eligible full-time employees with a Safe Harbor 401k plan. The Company will match an employee’s elective contributions on a dollar-for-dollar basis, up to 4% of your annual compensation. Full-time employees are eligible to enroll in the 401K plan following 90 days of continuous employment.

Job Summary

Work with Opeeka team members to support users, analyze user needs, and develop software solutions, by applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. May work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems and develop specifications and performance requirements. Provide technical expertise and work with customer support and our implementation teams to help configure and troubleshoot application and data issues. Contribute to improving processes and practices within product development and cross-functional teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot production issues and helping to resolve bugs and configuration-related issues.
• Provide technical support to the Customer Support and Implementation teams.
• Reverse engineer existing software components to understand functionality and create comprehensive documentation.
• Implement and maintain application-level monitoring to proactively detect issues and improve reliability.
• Ensure the health and performance of the application by analyzing logs and metrics.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for complex data manipulation and analysis.
• Responsible for backend REST API development in C# .NET.
• Fix and troubleshoot issues in Angular SPA application.
• Work with project management to integrate new customers through custom development processes.
• Work with product management to help drive design decisions.
• Collaboration with onshore and offshore development teams to implement and troubleshoot features.
• Write custom scripts to reduce the need for human intervention and create scalable, automated solutions for our customer base.
• Write tests for existing and created code to ensure compatibility and stability.
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies.
• Design, implement, and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met.
• Provide guidance to junior and mid-level developers on best practices.
• Participate in the onboarding, mentoring, and coaching of new team members.

Financial Responsibilities:

Includes tracking and monitoring actual labor hours associated with projects to ensure labor costs stay within the approved project budget.

Supervisory Responsibilities


Onboarding, directing, and coaching new developers.
Own and drive project-level initiatives to completion.

Knowledge
• Must be comfortable in Azure services and navigating through service logs.
• Demonstrated ability to create, run and debug Azure Functions is a plus.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis against application defects.
• Familiarity with Jira and GIT-based source code repository.

Education and/or Experience

• BS degree in CS, Computer Engineering, or related experience.
• 10+ years with .NET Framework and .NET Core, specifically C#, MVC Experience.
• 5+ years API/Web Service Development: REST/Web Services/API/SOAP/WCF.
• 5+ years experience in Angular or React.
• 5+ years of using Microsoft SQL Server with strong SQL skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Azure platform services.
• Experience using Application Monitoring Platforms to setup dashboards and alerts
• Visual Studio 2019 and higher.
• Experience with software development methodologies in a regulated environment.
• Related development experience: .NET Core, NodeJS is a plus.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure is a plus.
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, and other scripting languages is a plus.
