Job Description

Position Summary:
Rehab Department manager will be responsible for overseeing departments of Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapy and related staff members. May also involve provision of services to inpatients, outpatients and for patient populations in which WRHS has entered into a contractual agreement with.  Staff member will be licensed in accordance with state laws and requirements.  Job duties will include evaluating, treating and arranging plan of care for patients. Additional department manager duties will include: preparation and management of budget, attendance of department manager meetings, supervision of employee meetings within rehab department, and completion of employee annual reviews. This position will also be responsible for payroll approval, schedule arrangement, staff supervision, and conflict management. Department manager will work in accordance with medical staff and fellow ancillary staff within the rehab department.

Excellence in Practice
  • Oversees department functions for the Rehabilitation Services. Plans, maintains, and evaluates staffing and scheduling patterns. Develops job descriptions and criteria measurements for all jobs within the department.
  • Maintains department equipment needs and stock supplies. Adequate stock maintained and Inventory overstock prevented.
  • Investigates new equipment needs and supplies as requested by staff/physicians and or personnel evaluations of department needs.
  • Assures that all professional staff certification and licenses are current and on file. Maintains compliance with regularity agencies.
  • Develops long and short term goals and objections consistent with WRHS mission and corporate values.
  • Develops policies and procedures for departmental operation with input from the ACO staff.
  • Develops annual operation and capital equipment budget for the department. Maintains expenses within the department budget.
  • Establishes and maintains a performance improvement and a quality control program within the department to ensure that proper care is given to all patients Establishes and maintain orientation, quality assurance, quality control, safety, fire, disaster and other programs.
  • Assist in recruiting department personnel based on need for professional and non-professional staff and also assists as directed with the hiring process. Ensure all new hire paperwork, orientation and as well as ongoing payroll records are submitted.
  • Provides in-services to department staff for interpretation of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for payroll approval, schedule arrangement, staff supervision, and conflict management.
Essential Job Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited school of therapy.
  • Experience: New graduates acceptable for consideration.
  • License Requirements: Licensed to practice discipline of therapy in the state of ND
