Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join our team remotely. This role is vital in ensuring smooth payroll operations for a diverse team of over 1,100 employees across the US. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you'll manage all aspects of payroll processing, compliance, and employee inquiries with precision and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full Cycle Payroll Processing: Handle all payroll activities from start to finish, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Special Payments: Process various payments including bonuses, commissions, termination payments, and overtime.
- Timecard Audits: Review and audit employee timecards for accuracy and completeness.
- Garnishments & Verifications: Manage garnishments and respond to employment verification requests.
- Benefits Administration: Administer and reconcile employee benefits deductions and employer contributions.
- 401K & HSA Contributions: Prepare and upload contributions, and record related journal entries.
- Payroll Communication: Coordinate payroll schedules and deadlines with relevant departments.
- W-2 Preparation: Assist in preparing W-2s and annual reconciliations.
- Audit Support: Support both internal and external audits, including compliance with government and third-party requirements.
- Documentation Maintenance: Keep payroll documentation up to date to support efficient payroll processes.
- Employee Support: Address and resolve payroll-related questions and issues in a timely manner.
- Process Improvement: Provide feedback and suggestions for enhancing payroll processes and efficiency.
Required Experience:
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in full cycle payroll administration.
- Software Knowledge: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience with Dayforce (Ceridian).
- Payroll Practices: Strong understanding of payroll practices and US legislation.
- Skills: Proficient in Excel, highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a service-oriented approach.
- Independence: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Confidentiality: Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Education: Post-secondary education or equivalent business experience; Payroll Professional designation preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $69,000 - $75,000 annually, plus bonus and benefits. The final salary will be based on skills, experience, and location.
