then this probably isn't the right job for you. Maybe you're thinking "But I'm a great editor, I can cut in my sleep. I know AE inside and out. I've messed around in Illustrator, so what if I don't love the world of beauty..." Gotta stop you there. At Definite we produce all kinds of content for the beauty industry - that could be slick consumer-facing social media content, it could also be highly technical tutorials on how to use a new eyeliner, and it might even be a CEO talking about retail sales initiatives. It's the FULL world of beauty and if it's boring to you, that's going to come through in the cuts and it just won't work.

We're looking for an editor who is more than a video editor. We're looking for someone who can take a maybe-not-great-idea and inject it with creativity.
Someone who can design on- brand frames with a plan for how you will animate them. Someone who can take some tricky footage and find the nuances in movement to make magic.
Someone who can look at a foundation application and know when that formula still needs to be blended out.
Someone ready to take a project from start to finish.
The above is the bare minimum. We understand that graphic design is a diverse and wide ranging scope so we're not looking for a strict RISD or Parsons designer. We totally get that After Effects is a deep and complex program; we're not looking for an experience Lucas Films Alum. What we can say is that all of our video projects have animated graphics in them, so fluidity in the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite is a must. We are also looking for someone that has critical thinking ability, is efficient, keeps their projects organized, and understands that teamwork makes the dreamwork.

After immediate success with luxury brands Guerlain and Givenchy, Sephora recognized Definite Films a preferred vendor and recommended their services to their roster of brands. As a not so well-kept-secret, Definite continued to expand through word of mouth into skincare, fragrance, jewelry, and cosmetics. In 2014 Definite opened their first studio and has since expanded to create an in-house experience that gives everyone the tools to express their vision of beauty. By leveraging their expertise beauty industry, Definite helps brands create elevated content effortlessly.
